The Pontiac Fire Am - The Herb Adams VSE Firebird American

WHAT IS A FIRE AM ? The ULTIMATE Trans Am

There are a few minor inaccuracies in this brief description:

http://transamcountry.com/site/the-fire-am

Here at the Fire Am Registry we seek any and all information about these very rare Pontiacs. If you own a Fire Am, have any Herb Adams VSE parts or know of anyone that does please contact us. We also seek information on the Eight Fire Am race cars built by Cars&Concepts. Also looking for info on Gen II Firebirds and Camaros with Cars&Concepts T-Tops.

PLEASE CONTACT US at thefireamregistry@yahoo.com THANK YOU!

I currently have 2 Fire Am's. Well Actually I gave my original 76 to my  son. I have built the 79 Using all original VSE parts, not the  reproductions. The only repro thing on the 79 are the decals, which look  terrific BTW. I look forward to seeing more of these cars come out of  the woodwork. The 76 has belonged to us since May of 2012. It was  converted back in the day and currently only has 57k Miles on it. It was  a North East US car so it has some rust popping out. My son is  currently saving for the restoration. Both cars have the following:

    FIRE-AM STAGE I: STREET PERFORMANCE
    • Kit #31 Front stabilizer bar with spherical rod-end-equipped end links
    • Kit #31 Revised wheel-alignment specs
    • Kit #41 Rear stabilizer bar
    • Kit #71 Front-structure kit
    • Kit #72 Front-end lowering kit (also cut coils as specified)
    • Kit #51 Battery-relocation kit
    • Kit #11 Large-diameter bolt-in roll bar - Black in the 79, Chrome in the 76

    FIRE-AM STAGE II: AUTOCROSS
    • Kits #12&13 Corbeau bucket seats, racing belts, and harnesses
    • Kit #52 Solid front-suspension bushings (previously installed) - 76 Only

In  addition, the 76 originally had the 8" Snowflakes when I bought the car  but we were lucky to find some offset Appliance wheel originally  offered through VSE. It also has the Deep sump oil pan and the MSD  ignition and Aluminum intake . It has since had FItech Fuel Injection  added.

One   of the 8 Cars and Concepts Fire Ams known to exist, Pat's F/A is a rare   example of what may be the only C&C delivered and developed Fire Am left.   Featuring the colour combo most recgonisable from the magazine and   advertisements, it features a full list of VSE options including custom   trimmed Recaros to match the style of the period, and a truly   "custom" C&C exclusive horn butt
